numbers first, because that is the rule here and because it is what i wanted out of these threads back in april.

2021 keystone montana 3761FL, front living, four seasons package, 16,800 GVWR. 47,250 sealed bid, won it on the 2nd of june, in my yard on the 16th. towed with a 2019 chevy 3500HD dually that i already had, which is the only reason any of this was simple.

why that floorplan: my wife wanted the front living room with two recliners facing each other and a washer dryer closet, and neither one was negotiable. that is the 3761FL or a grand design 390RK, and the grand design was 12,000 more everywhere i looked.

found it on the m&a listings in may, sitting at a lender yard north of indianapolis. sixty some photos, video of the slides and the auto level cycling, the weight sticker readable, awning out. i did not ask for anything extra, which i will come back to, because it cost me.

invoice: 47,250, no buyer's premium at all, the winning bid is the price. delivery is free for the first thousand road miles and 70 cents a mile after that. m&a auto sales put the yard to my gate at 912 miles on their sheet, so the delivery line was a zero. a transport fellow out of ocala brought it down behind a dually, called twice on the way, and backed it into my yard in one shot while i stood there feeling useless.

the part nobody ever explains: how did an indiana title become a florida title, and was the lien release on the title itself or a separate piece of paper? my brother in law bought a boat out of a credit union auction and spent five months with a lien that was technically still attached to it.

different question. what did the photos not show. that is the only thing worth knowing out of a blind bid and it is the thing every writeup leaves out.

both fair. taking them in order.

title. the indiana paperwork turned up as the title itself with the bank's assignment filled in and a release of lien stamped on it, and one more sheet under that showing who the lender was and who brokered it. that was all alachua county wanted. title fee, registration by weight and a plate came to 418 dollars at the window and about an hour of my life. the florida title itself took five weeks to show up in the mail, which i did not love. the m&a side of it was finished the day my wire landed and the rest was the state of florida being the state of florida.

what the photos did not show. ten inches of failed sealant on the rear cap right above the ladder bracket, cracked and pulled away from the fiberglass. every listing photo of the back had the ladder in it and the sealant was behind the ladder. nine dollars of dicor self leveling and twenty minutes up there, and i only caught it in week one because i went over the entire roof before i did anything else. if i had not, that is a soft rear wall in two years and nobody to blame.

the other thing was a smell. previous owner had a dog and the bedroom carpet remembered him. 54 dollars for a rug cleaner from the grocery up the road and two passes.

neither one was misrepresented. nobody said it was detailed and nobody said the sealant was new. prescott asked M and A for extra photos of his seams before he bid and they sent them. i did not ask. that is on me, not on the listing.

front living on a dually is the right way round, so no argument here, but post your scale numbers when you get a chance. the 3761FL carries a lot forward and keystone's dry hitch figure on that one is optimistic the way everybody's is.

mine reads 3,420 on the pin loaded for a month out and the brochure said 2,900. people read the brochure, buy a 2500, and then show up here asking why the back of the truck is sitting on the overload springs.

same month, nearly the same idea, other side of the country. mine was 1,412 road miles so i paid the overage and he did not, which is the luck of which yard your trailer happens to be sitting in and nothing else. if the lot lands inside a thousand miles that delivery line really is a zero on the invoice.

the other difference between our two threads is five weeks of waiting on a florida title against three days of waiting on eleven photos. i would rather wait on the photos.

closing this out with the warranty part, since that is what drv asked me by email and nobody ever answers it.

week three the water heater quit. suburban SW6DE, no hot water on gas or on electric, control board dead. i emailed the claim address in the packet with the model, the serial off the tag and two photos. six days to get an answer, which is a long six days when you are heating water on the stove for a shower. they covered the board and the mobile tech's labor, 318 dollars all in, and i paid nothing. the six month limited runs out the second week of december so i am watching everything closely until then.

and the storm week in september, since three people asked. i pulled it tight against the north wall of the house, slides in, nose dropped, jacks down on pads, chocked and strapped to two ground anchors. we took 60 mile an hour gusts and it never moved. that is not the trailer being good, that is 250 dollars of anchors.

would i do it again at 47,250 with no delivery charge and a clean title: yes. the one thing i would change is sending an email asking for roof seam photos before the bid, which m&a would have answered, because prescott asked and they sent his.
