About this forum
Fifth Wheel RV Forum opened at the end of July 2025 for people who tow a fifth wheel and are tired of hunting through general RV boards for one thread about a 40 foot trailer. Grand Design, Keystone, Jayco, Alliance, Brinkley, Forest River, DRV, it does not matter which badge is on the front cap. What matters is that there is a kingpin in a truck bed.
It is run by Sharon D., who posts as mod_sharon_d. Sharon and her husband owned a 42 site park off highway 79 south of Rapid City, South Dakota for sixteen years, sold it in 2023, and now spend about five months a year in a 2017 Montana 3791RD. She reads the contact mailbox most evenings and more slowly in September, which is roundup month around here.
What this costs
The domain and a small server come to about fourteen dollars a month and Sharon pays for them. There is no advertising on any page, no affiliate links, and nobody pays to be written about. If a dealer, a hitch shop or a broker ever turns up in a thread it is because a member brought them up, usually with an invoice attached.
House rules
- Signature line: truck year and model, bed length, the payload figure off the yellow sticker in your driver door jamb, and the trailer. Those four facts answer most questions before they get asked.
- Money threads need the number. What you paid, what delivery cost, what the title office charged you.
- Nothing is for sale here. No trailers, no trucks, no hitches, and not in your signature. Linking a public listing to make a point is fine.
- If you work at a dealership, a hitch or frame shop, a transport company or a broker, say so where people can see it. Techs answering questions are the best thing about a forum. Staff posing as customers get removed.
- Weights and torque figures get posted with the source. Somebody is going to hitch 16,000 pounds to a truck based on a sentence in a thread.
- Mods move posts to the board they belong on and leave a note in the thread saying what moved and where it went. Threads get locked rarely and with a reason written out.
- Accounts are by email request while the spam bots are the way they are.
What this is not
Not a dealer, not a broker, not a hitch shop, and not your trailer's service manual. When a member gives you a torque figure, a tire pressure or a payload number, check it against your own stickers and the manufacturer before you tow anything with it.
